Avoya Travel has just wrapped up its first in-person educational and networking event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic aboard the Celebrity Apex from October 24-28, 2021. The highly anticipated event, hosted in partnership with Celebrity Cruises, has welcomed nearly 200 independent agencies and authorized agents of the Avoya travel network as well as more than 20 of Avoya’s preferred supplier partners.
The optional networking event was an opportunity for the Avoya Network to connect and network in person after such a tumultuous time in the travel industry and to rejuvenate and connect with other independent agencies, partners Avoya suppliers and executives and staff. The majority of the event has been structured to be an open program so that attendees can interact with network members and providers at their leisure and have time to truly immerse themselves in the Celebrity Apex product.
Structured time was devoted to the much-loved roundtables, which allowed independent agencies to have conversations with each supplier partner in intimate, small-group settings where they were able to learn about health and safety protocols, new products and ask questions to help them develop their independent businesses. Fifty percent of independent agencies present recorded at least $ 1 million in sales in 2019 and 30 percent have already booked more than $ 500,000 in 2021, giving travel suppliers the opportunity to forge collaborative relationships with a large number of very efficient independent agencies.
The Avoya Network members in attendance felt recharged and energized by the in-person learning and networking experience once again and were delighted to experience Celebrity Apex firsthand.
