Johor government allocates RM 4million to tourism industry, says MB


JOHOR BARU: The state government has allocated RM4 million as a special incentive to tourism industry players with the aim of reviving the state’s tourism industry next year.

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said of the amount, 621,000 RM would be given to 621 tour guides and 414,000 RM to 207 budget hotel operators.

He added that RM 372,000 would be paid to 186 travel agencies, RM 233,000 to 232 cabin operators and RM 82,000 to 82 tour boat operators.

“We have also allocated 320,000 RM to the Johor Tourism Association and 100,000 RM as a special initiative for the business events to be held here,” he said during the unveiling of the 2022 budget of the ‘State here Thursday (November 18).

Hasni added that RM400,000 would also be allocated to modernize Tourism Johor’s office here and another RM2mil to step up promotional activities both locally and abroad.

“This is all just one of the many initiatives of the Majestic Johor to boost tourism in the state,” he added.

On a different note, Hasni also announced that nearly 20,000 email drivers, taxi drivers and people delivering food will receive a one-time payment of RM100-150 as part of an assistance initiative. next year.

He said that an amount of RM 2.7 million has been allocated for this program.
