Kishan pledges to promote Durga temple as top tourist destination


VIJAYAWADA: Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G. Kishan Reddy had a darshan from Goddess Kanaka Durga at the temple, where he offered special prayers.

Minister of Endowments Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao greeted him while officials offered him “teertha prasadams”.

He later said he asked for Lord Venkateswara’s blessings on Wednesday and Goddess Kanaka Durga on Thursday.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s determination to safeguard the culture and traditions of the country, he said that the Veerabhadra temple in Warangal has been declared a Unesco heritage center and ensured to develop places of historical significance and cultural activity in the PA in the coming days with public and private CSR funds. establishments.

Admitting that the tourism sector has been hit hard over the past two years due to Covid, Reddy has made every effort to revive it once the pandemic has subsided. He ensured to promote structures of historical significance under the Bharat Darshan program to help people realize their importance.

He said he would make every effort to promote tourism in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state and develop Durga Temple as a major tourist site.

Meanwhile, Kishan Reddy sustained a minor injury to his forehead when he knocked against the car door as he was getting in.

He later called Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office in Tadepalli. The Chief Minister and his wife Bharathi presented Kishan Reddy and his wife with an idol of Lord Venkateswara.

Earlier, when the Union Minister arrived at Vijayawada Airport on a special flight from Tirupati, senior BJP leaders including Madhav, Kanna Lakshminarayana and others received him.
