Son Volt announces North American tour for winter 2022

Son Volt has announced their new tour, which will take place next year between January and March. The expansive 2022 tour will include stops in Tucson, Pioneertown, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Boise, Boulder, Minneapolis, Evanston, Pittsburgh, Woodstock, Brooklyn, Boston, St. Louis and more.

The tour is scheduled in support of his most recent album Electro Melody, which came out earlier this year. Blake Michelle of mxdwn wrote an album review on it: “Unfortunately, while the tone and lyrics of the album are not exhausting, the length of Electro melody is. It’s an almost hour-long album that doesn’t feature hooks or interesting instrumental passages that last an entire song. It’s not like the band is doing something out of their comfort zone or the production is bad; there is just no soul or spark in it. “Rebetika” comes closest to it with layers of guitar sounds ranging from sparkling to rustic; “War on Misery” has a similar vibe that’s ruined by a horrible rustle that permeates the entire track, like someone crumpling aluminum straight into the mic.
